From the Star Tribune: A soldier from Minnesota is being held in South Korea on drunk driving charges:

Sgt. Onken, 33, is in a South Korean jail, accused of leaving the scene of an accident that killed a 22-year-old Korean woman on Nov. 28. Authorities believe he was driving drunk, according to a report in the English-language Korea Times.

Ron and Karen Onken say they don't know what happened. They don't know where their son is being held, what condition he's in or whether he is being represented by an attorney.

"I was hoping the military would at least give us the consideration to call us and tell us what's going on," Karen Onken said Thursday.

Gee... This guy is being treated just like a terrorist suspect in the United States. It's just a matter of time before other countries start treating U.S. citizens like we treat theirs. (see Brazil).
